Gold Panda, a British electronic record producer, has just released a new EP that was heavily influenced by Britain’s latest decision to leave the European Union.
“Brexit” is the term crafted to describe Great Britain’s leave from the European Union. On June 23, Britain exited the union, and some were very distraught at this news. Gold Panda has not personally commented on Brexit, but his twitter account confirmed that he voted to remain. However, he also made it clear that he is not against Brexit either.
For the most part, this EP was heavily influenced by Gold Panda’s encounter with his Afghan neighbor. His neighbor started to discuss an unfortunate event in which he ordered a cell phone to call home. To his demise, the cell phone never reached his house because the delivery man signed and took it for himself.
Gold Panda wrote, “I thought this was a pretty shitty welcome. I made a couple of less happy songs that are very very loosely based around that and my Brexit fears, which were sadly confirmed.”
The last time Gold Panda was in the spotlight was in 2013 when he performed at metro.
